Interior Design Show 2014 Recap

Posted by:Aleksandra Oleksak

This past weekend was the Interior Design Show in Toronto. Last year was my first year ever attending the show so I was happy to be back at it again. I really enjoyed the show this year and tried to take as many pictures as I could before my camera died, clearly I was not prepared. But thanks to my Iphone and Renee, they both saved the day!

So, once again, with my badge around my neck, off I went with my original tour guides from last year, Mark and Renee and a newbie, my boyfriend, Amir.

First up was this really cool concept by Korhani Home where they believe there is a natural relationship between fashion and home. Yes those are outdoor rugs and yes those mannequins were talking to us.

Although I’m not a big baby person, I was really digging this nursery set up by Draw Me A Sheep

The Tomlin Group didn’t disappoint me with their awesome tubs last year, but this pink claw foot tub had me speechless and re designing my bathroom!

There were some really cool and unique tiles options to choose from this year and here are a couple of my favourites!

Smitten with the colour and pattern of these 2 designs by Mettro Source, believe me there was a lot more eye candy there too!

Loved how some of my favourite pattens ended up on these tiles by Ceragres

How amazing is this collaboration between Ceasarstone and Raw Edges. Although not realistic, it’s gets you thinking outside the box for different uses of their stone

I was totally digging Urban Barn’s set up, especially this bedroom, it had me at bedside chandeliers!

Ikea IDS 2014 gold

Ikea killed it again this year at the show, I mean when they have my favourite home colour, gold, it’s an instant success in my books. From the gold tip side table to the gold bathroom, I was in Ikea heaven

Couldn’t stop staring at these beauties from Subject Matter Art, where they offer photographic art from upcoming, established and award winning artists from around the world. The laundry ones were my fav, but a bit outside of my art budget :(

And last but not least, there is La Cornue! I swear I will have one of these in my forever home someday. Although it seems like my taste gets expensive every year, this range that I was loving, especially with the gold burners was only $40,000, yes that’s not a typo!

I could go on forever, but I won’t. There was a lot of inspiring things and I’m super happy I got to attend the Interior Design Show again this year.

Make sure to come back next week where I show my favourite Studio North exhibitors

What was your favourite part of the show?
